Our itch to travel brought about the idea of escaping the grind (get it?) to live a more travel-filled lifestyle with less routine &amp; more caffeine.<\/p>\n<p>Stuck in a rut for more than a decade, the idea of making our escape came about while we were on vacation in Japan; we decided to risk it, pack up and leave it all behind (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.grindstonerunaways.com\/so-how-did-we-get-here\/\">read the full story here<\/a>). Our extended coffee break was made possible by simplifying our lives, saving up by down-sizing our spending, selling almost all our possessions and leaving the 8-5 grind behind. Both graphic designers by trade, we continue to work as freelances along the way to keep this dream alive.<\/p>\n<p>To own our own cafe\/coffee trailer is the end goal, and we&#8217;re sneaking in ideas, tips and recipes along the way. We have currently been on the road for more than a year, have visited 200+ cafes in over 55 cities\/towns, in 19 different countries.<\/p>\n<p>Runaway with us&#8230; as we scatch the travel itch, tick personal bucket list items, hop around the planet from cafe to cafe, and taste the worlds finest caffeinated beverages!<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s go!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey!
